The African Arts in Education Residency Program brings the excitement and history of African culture to students through West African dance and drum workshops and live concerts with professional African performers. We also lend a collection of African art to the school for a month’s time, which allows teachers to use these artifacts as teaching tools for students to study.
Residencies are fully customizable for students of all ages and abilities and can range from one day to an entire week.
- One-Day Residency: up to six sessions of drum or dance workshops
- Three-Day Residency: drum and/or dance workshops
- One-Week Residency: drum and dance workshops
All residencies include a month-long art installation plus a musical assembly.
Authentic African instruments for the workshops are provided by Crocodile River Music.
